The stories in Beggars Belief are set in a variety of locations, from the rundown streets of New York City to the windswept beaches of the Outer Banks. Bar's characters are equally diverse, and they include drug addicts, prostitutes, homeless people, and drifters. Despite their differences, these characters are all united by their shared experience of being outsiders.

Bar's writing is both lyrical and unflinching, and he does not shy away from the dark side of life. His stories are full of violence, poverty, and despair, but they are also full of hope and resilience. Bar's characters are often flawed, but they are also capable of great love and compassion.

Beggars Belief is a powerful and moving collection of stories that will stay with you long after you finish reading it. Bar's writing is both beautiful and heartbreaking, and he offers a unique glimpse into the lives of those who are often overlooked.
